CLIENT FACING POSSESSION OF COCAINE CHARGES GETS HIS CASE DISMISSED AFTER ERICK CRUZ OBTAINS OFFICER'S BODY CAMERA RECORDINGS

A young client was charged and arrested with possession of cocaine after an officer stopped and searched him. The officer casually encountered the client and accused him of having drugs. Without probable cause or consent, the officer searched the client's car and found cocaine. The client was arrested and taken to jail. The client was very concerned because he was in the process of applying for a job with restrictive application standards.
When Erick got to work on the case, he requested the officer's body camera footage. The video clearly showed that the officer had no reason to confront the client much less search the car. Erick provided the video to the prosecutors and argued to them that the stop and search were illegal. The prosecutor agreed and dismissed the charges against the client. Fortunately, the client was able to continue with his job application.
