CLIENT CHARGED WITH GRAND THEFT AFTER STEALING OVER $1000 WORTH OF MERCHANDISE WILL HAVE HER CASE DISMISSED AFTER ERICK CONVINCES PROSECUTORS TO ENROLL HER INTO A DIVERSION PROGRAM

A tourist visiting from a foreign country was arrested at a luxury store after stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise. The woman was observed by store security personnel concealing several articles of merchandise inside a bag and walking past the cashier’s and exiting the store. Once outside the store, the woman was detained and turned over to police officers who arrested her and charged her with grand theft. The woman, who was visiting from a foreign country and had to depart. The woman retained Erick Cruz to represent her and resolve her problems.
Erick immediately got to work by contacting the intake prosecutor assigned to investigate the case. Erick Explained the situation to the prosecutor and told her about the predicament that the woman faced in returning to her country. Using the fact that the undamaged merchandise was returned to the store and the fact that the woman had no criminal history in her home country, Erick convinced the prosecutor to allow the client to enter the first offender program and to complete the conditions imposed in her home country. After she completes all of what is asked from her, Erick will have the client’s case dismissed. Additionally, because the charges were dismissed the client will have not be barred from entering into the United States in the future by immigration authorities.
